About UsThe Amish Trading Post has been a tradition of Amish built quality since 1995. Owners Sandy & Del Armstrong have used the same ideals & work ethic as the Amish people that build the furniture, bringing to High Point, & the surrounding Triad area, quality Amish made products that historically were difficult to find outside of Amish country.

Our History |
It all began when Del, while working in the MRI field, was relocated from Pennsylvania to Winston Salem. During a visit to his family’s home & birthplace in Pennsylvania over the 1994 Christmas holiday, Del was relaxing in a rocking chair owned by his parents, handmade by local Pennsylvania Amish craftsmen, & thought “this furniture would be appreciated in North Carolina, if it were available”. It wasn’t long before he started bringing these handcrafted Amish products to sell at flea markets throughout the Triad area. Soon he realized this would be a successful business, & a permanent location would be necessary in order to purvey all of the different Amish made products that were available. In 1995 Del began placing Amish built outdoor furniture on consignment with “Deep River Antiques & Fine Consignments” at “Amish Trading Post’s” present location on Eastchester Drive in High Point. As sales flourished the business grew, Del left his job in MRI in 1996. In 1999, “Deep River Antiques” & “Amish Trading Post” separated into two separate businesses. During 2004 Sandy & Del were married & Sandy left her job at the City of High Point to give Del much needed help (what a blessing she has been). In the spring of 2006, the owners of "Deep River Antiques" decided to move their antique business, giving “Amish Trading Post” opportunity for continued growth.
What began primarily as an Amish made outdoor furniture business has flourished into a complete line of Amish made products. “Amish Trading Post” has offered everything from outdoor furniture to play sets to fine interior furniture since 1999, yet many of the people coming into the store say “I never knew you offered interior furniture too”. The Amish built interior furniture is absolutely beautiful, with unsurpassed quality. Their slogan is “From the Front Porch to the Backyard”. |
